Wealth and Expansion With Jupiter Magic | The Seven, Episode 11

In Episode 11 of The Seven: Living with the Planets, Lucy Baldwin explores Jupiter magic as the planetary current of wealth, expansion, wisdom, legacy, capacity, protection, and long-term growth.

Jupiter is the benevolent sky-father planet.

The all-father.

The lightning bringer.

The wise elder.

The planet of generosity, growth, blessing, abundance, and the ability to hold more.

But this episode also makes an important distinction:

Jupiter magic is not a quick fix for scarcity.

Jupiter is not simply “get rich fast” magic.

Jupiter is the magic of expansion built on foundations. It helps you grow what is already moving. It helps you build capacity, wealth, wisdom, and legacy over time. Sometimes Jupiter strikes like lightning. But often, Jupiter grows like a great tree.

Jupiter Is the Planet of Expansion

Jupiter is big.

Mythically, archetypally, astronomically, and magically.

Jupiter is associated with Zeus, sky gods, lightning, blessing, nobility, wisdom, family legacy, and wealth that accumulates over time.

This is not the fast flash of cleverness.

It is not the quick transactional current.

It is not only money coming in and out.

Jupiter is the force that expands capacity.

The force that builds inheritance.

The force that asks:

What are you growing?

What can you hold?

What kind of future are you building?

Jupiter Magic Is Not a Quick Fix for Scarcity

This is one of the most important clarifications in the episode.

If you are in acute scarcity, panic, or financial fear, Jupiter may not be the first planetary current to work with.

Not because Jupiter is weak.

Because Jupiter expands.

And expansion needs something to build on.

If the foundation is unstable, expansion can feel overwhelming or impossible. If the nervous system is contracted around fear, debt, panic, and survival, the first work may be Saturnian.

Saturn helps with structure.

Boundaries.

Reality.

Stability.

Containment.

The foundation.

Jupiter can build beautifully on a strong foundation.

But if there is nothing solid underneath, the bigness of Jupiter may not be easy to receive.

Mercury Money and Jupiter Wealth Are Different

Lucy offers a useful distinction between Mercury money and Jupiter wealth.

Mercury is cash flow.

Money moving.

Money coming in.

Money going out.

The current.

The exchange.

The quick opportunity.

Mercury magic can be excellent for motion, communication, commerce, and immediate financial movement.

But Mercury money can also be easy come, easy go.

The money arrives, and then the car breaks.

The check comes in, and then the bill appears.

The flow is real, but it may not build.

Jupiter is different.

Jupiter is the dam that gathers the current.

The wisdom to invest.

The ability to save.

The long-term plan.

The stable growth of wealth over time.

Mercury helps money move.

Jupiter helps money become legacy.

Jupiter Builds What Already Has Motion

Jupiter is expansion.

And expansion requires something to expand.

This is why Jupiter often works beautifully when there is already motion, structure, or opportunity in your life.

A project that has begun.

A business that has customers.

A practice that is alive.

A relationship that has roots.

A financial flow that can be directed into savings, investment, or growth.

Jupiter can multiply.

Jupiter can bless.

Jupiter can open the bigger door.

But Jupiter does not remove the need for action, structure, wisdom, and discernment.

Expansion is not escape.

It is increase.

Sometimes Jupiter Strikes Like Lightning

Although Jupiter is often associated with slow growth, it is also lightning.

Sometimes Jupiter magic arrives suddenly.

A synchronicity.

A meeting.

A windfall.

A door opening.

A fast expansion.

A blessing that feels enormous and unmistakable.

This is part of Jupiter too.

But lightning is not always predictable.

You cannot control when it strikes.

You can, however, become the kind of person who can receive the strike when it comes.

That is the deeper work of Jupiter magic:

capacity.

Jupiter and the Upper Limit Problem

Jupiter magic has a lot to do with the ability to hold more.

More money.

More visibility.

More love.

More responsibility.

More success.

More blessing.

More expansion.

This is where the upper limit problem appears.

You may consciously want more, but your system may not yet know how to hold more.

Havingness is capacity.

Can you have the thing?

Can you receive it?

Can you let it stay?

Can you expand without collapsing?

Jupiter helps build that inner container.

The great, benevolent, protective field that says:

It is safe to be seen.

It is safe to be loved.

It is safe to hold more.

It is safe to step into a bigger role.

Jupiter as Protection

The actual planet Jupiter protects Earth by absorbing or redirecting many impacts from space.

Magically, this becomes a powerful symbol.

Jupiter protects.

Holds.

Blesses.

Stabilizes.

Creates room for life to grow.

In ritual and inner work, Jupiter can be experienced as a fatherly, benevolent, protective presence.

Not the harsh father.

The wise one.

The one who says:

You can grow.

You can hold more.

You are allowed to become larger than your current life.

Expansion Requires Wisdom

Jupiter is not only abundance.

Jupiter is wisdom.

And wisdom means discernment.

When to say yes.

When to say no.

When to restructure.

When to invest.

When to wait.

When to act.

When to build.

A person who cannot discern may confuse every opportunity with a blessing.

But Jupiterian wisdom asks for maturity.

Not everything that looks big is truly expansive.

Not everything that looks profitable is aligned.

Not everything that looks like growth is actually growth.

Jupiter asks:

Is this expansion wise?

Jupiter Contains the Other Planets

One of the most beautiful ideas in this episode is that Jupiter touches all of the other planetary currents.

To expand well, you need more than bigness.

You need Saturn for structure and foundations.

You need the Moon for rhythm, intuition, expansion, and contraction.

You need Mercury for movement, communication, flow, and commerce.

You need Mars for action, initiative, and execution.

You need Venus for receiving, relationship, and the ability to be loved.

You need the Sun for self-generated creativity, radiance, and divine spark.

Jupiter gathers these currents into something larger.

Expansion is not one-dimensional.

It is orchestration.

Jupiter and Legacy

Jupiter is not only about getting more.

It is about building something that lasts.

Legacy.

Tradition.

Family.

Investment.

Wisdom passed forward.

Generational wealth.

Long-term structures.

This makes Jupiter very different from the quick hit of manifestation. Jupiter asks you to think beyond the immediate desire.

Not just:

How do I get money now?

But:

What am I building?

What will this become?

Who benefits from my expansion?

What future am I creating?

Jupiter magic is the magic of the long horizon.

A Simple Jupiter Reflection Practice

If you want to begin working with Jupiter, start with these questions:

Where in my life am I ready to expand?

What foundation already exists?

What do I want to be able to hold more of?

Where am I still in fear, contraction, or scarcity?

What structure would make expansion safer?

What would wise wealth look like for me?

What legacy am I building?

These questions are not meant to pressure you.

They are meant to help you feel the difference between quick escape and true expansion.

Jupiter is not asking you to panic your way into abundance.

Jupiter is asking you to become large enough to receive what is ready to grow.

  • Lucy Baldwin (00:03.232)

Hello and welcome to another episode of The Seven Living with the Planets. I am Lucy Baldwin and today I am very excited to talk to you about Jupiter magic. Yay! So Jupiter is the our benevolent sky daddy planet. Jupiter is also associated with Zeus. Jupiter is like

daddy God. Jupiter is associated with Odin and Thor because Jupiter is lightning and also kind of has that all father vibe going on. Jupiter is benevolent, wisdom, legacy, family tradition, long, long standing.

Jupiter is very much investment and wise and grandfather and mahogany and rich and wealth and...

And if I had to give it a political party, I would say Jupiter is Republicans and Mercury is the Democrats. But I don't want to politicize these because Mercury is newness and Jupiter is more like legacy. Mercury is like flow and change and queer and

    Lucy Baldwin (01:49.646)

Jupiter is stable and solid and grounded. And they're both extremely valuable in terms of the power that they hold, that they take up in our psyche. We always are seeking balance within these energies. so part of reason I'm...

talking about Jupiter today is because I'm getting ready to offer a program where we're going to do Jupiter magic. And I don't want to talk too much about the program because it's just going to be kind of like a one-time offer. And I'm hoping that people will be listening to this podcast far into the future when this program isn't available anymore. But I'm going to mention it anyway. you know, I'm going mention it a little bit. Jupiter is a

slow. It's like building things over time, right? And it's structuring things in ways that are sort of savvy and setting you up for success and making good investments, right? And being conscientious of where your money's going and where your time is going and the opportunities that are available.

and building businesses. And these are all things that kind of take time. what's interesting, and I've been kind of reflecting on this because I've been known to say, like in my courses, I kind of make this claim that Jupiter magic is kind of slow. And I had to kind of take a moment recently and be like, but sometimes it just strikes because it is lightning and sometimes lightning just strikes. But it's rare. It's like,

it will strike when it strikes and it can strike hard and fast. And sometimes it's more of like the slow build. there's kind of like this sense of we're setting ourselves up for the long term with Jupiter. so we don't... My experience, I know a lot of people who have fast, hot Jupiter.

    Lucy Baldwin (04:12.878)

synchronicities. Absolutely. All the time, especially if you have been sort of neglecting this side of things, Especially if you've been like really in the mercury current and then you lean into this like Jupiter side of things, it can happen really fast. If you've, if you sort of tend towards that Jupiter way already, it can take time to like build upon what you've already been building. And so

I started working with Jupiter in 2017 and making regular offerings to Jupiter. And it took a long time for me to see really big results, I felt like. And I'm just going to be honest, in order for me to see results, I had to first work with Saturn and build some foundations.

And I've been talking with people who are in my melt course, which is a Saturn magic course about maybe making that a prerequisite for doing this Jupiter magic, which I decided I'm not going to do because who am I to say that you can't learn these sort of like Saturnian lessons elsewhere or that people haven't aren't already carrying that Saturnian medicine. Like I don't want to make it as if I'm the only person who can teach Saturn magic. And so you have to take my Saturn course, but

I will say that in order for me to hit that Jupiter note and to get that big expansion that I was looking for financially and in business, because at the time that's really what I needed, I had to actually focus on the Saturnian, even more foundational stuff within myself.

first, and then I was able to have big Jupiter synchronicities and big Jupiter sort of results, let's say, like magic happening and things coming through, know, big money and big business and buying a house and things like that. I think that's important to just note here if you're wanting...

    Lucy Baldwin (06:32.116)

Jupiter magic as a quick fix for like financial problems. It's not that I'm not, you know, I'm not going to like preach the prosperity gospel here and say like, just do Jupiter magic and you'll become rich because if you're not doing the other things, like if you're not taking care of yourself, Jupiter won't be like there needs to be that that foundation for Jupiter to build upon if it's not there.

It's just, I feel like, I don't know, in my experience, you won't get the big results that you're looking for. And having said that, I am building some of that into the Jupiter program that I'm doing. But if you are looking for like help from scarcity, specifically, then Saturn is the way to go. And I have a

course on that. called Melt and you can buy it at any time and I highly, highly recommend that. But if you're looking for expansion, if you're looking for building upon what you already have, if you're looking at wanting to have a legacy and wisdom and investing and like building for the future and like generational wealth, that's the kind of thing that Jupiter calls in. Then

And then Jupiter Magic is a really great place to go. Like if you've already got a solid foundation under you and you're not in like kind of a critical place right now, this is an amazing... Jupiter Magic is amazing and it's incredibly fruitful. And the synchronicities can strike like lightning, especially when you're set up for yourself.

you know, just on the topic of money and wealth magic, know, Mercury is that cash flow, right? Mercury is the currency of money, like money flowing through you, money coming in, money flowing in, and money flowing out. Like it's, you know, receiving money and being in the current of it. And if you have flow,

    Lucy Baldwin (08:53.922)

but you're struggling to kind of like save and build and do things with it, then Jupiter magic is really, really powerful for that because it's like building a dam and sort of collecting from the flow, you know? And we need to keep the flow moving because that's just part of how, that's how money works. But Jupiter can help you sort of like...

build, use that flow, use some of that current, dam it up and set yourself up for the future with it. I've had a lot of success with Mercury Magic, like getting money quick. And then I have found at least for myself, and I've heard other people share this, it's like, it comes and then...

it goes. It's like, oh my God, I manifested $10,000 and then I got this freak thing happened. And it's like my car needed $2,000 of work and then there was this tax bill that I wasn't expecting and then there was a medical... Whatever it is, it just kind of like, it's like easy come, easy go. That's the way with Mercury Magic. so I also wouldn't use Mercury Magic if you're in scarcity.

Because it sounds like, quick money, but no, I would recommend Saturn still if you're in scarcity because that's like a nervous system problem. And Saturn will help with that because scarcity is fear and Saturn is who I work with for that kind of thing. And that's where I've seen such incredible results with so many people is through working with Saturn on money stuff, believe it or not.

And myself, like I said, I had to have the Saturn Foundation. Anyways, so I'm supposed to be talking about Jupiter and I'm talking about Saturn. But I just want you to know that we come to Jupiter, I recommend coming to Jupiter from a place of being ready to expand. their contraction is...

    Lucy Baldwin (11:14.826)

is a very true experience and it's actually a necessary balance with Jupiter. But with Jupiter, we seek this expansion and we seek to build our grow our capacity to hold.

I work with Jupiter a lot with upper limit, when I call the upper limit problem, or we also call it havingness. It's just, it's the capacity. It's like building the ability to hold. I also work with Mars for capacity and I will be incorporating that into my momentum program on Jupiter. But I'm just saying you can also work with Mars to help build capacity. But the idea is that, you know, Jupiter is, Jupiter the planet

protects the earth and Jupiter the planet is quite large and Jupiter the planet can hold a lot and so when I'm working with Jupiter I'm feeling into that fatherly God that fatherly presence that fatherly archetype energy that can protect me and

where it's safe, it's safe to be loved, it's safe to be seen, it's safe to step into bigger roles and bigger responsibility when we have that sort of like Jupiter holding us, right? We have Jupiter protecting us and we have Jupiter sort of like as something that we can, an energy that we can tap into within ourselves that

gives us sort of permission and also just that capacity to hold more, to be seen more, to be loved more, to have more success and to also build structures. There is a big piece of this and it's sort of a Saturnian element within Jupiter where sometimes in order to expand, we have to have structures. We have to sort of shift how we're doing things.

    Lucy Baldwin (13:33.397)

wisdom is a big part of the Jupiter archetype. It's like having the wisdom to know when it's time to restructure, having the wisdom. And of course, I always associate like wisdom to me, the sort of highest form of wisdom is discernment, right? It's like the discerning what is true for you, discerning what your intuition is telling you, discerning like

you know, whether to say yes to something or say no to something. And that's like an intuitive art. So I think that, you know, what I've been feeling into in preparing for this Jupiter program, Jupiter is in a lot of ways, a unique, a unique archetype and unique energy because, it's sort of, it touches on all, like it kind of encompasses all of the archetypes.

Because you have to, for example, like with Saturn, it's like you need those structures and you need that foundation. With the moon, it's like you need to honor that there is this expansion and contraction and being in the rhythm and in harmony with yourself and your own intuition. And there's also, you know, with Mercury, it's like in order to have something to build and grow,

we have to have motion, we have to have movement, and that's what Mercury is, right? Because you can't build on something that is static. You know what I mean? Something that is static cannot expand or contract. So it has to have flow and movement, and so you need that Mercurial piece. And then in terms of Mars and Venus,

in order to expand, you have to have balance between the masculine and the feminine. know, you have to, in order to find, to grow and expand and build your capacity, you have to be able to receive, and you also have to be willing to execute on things. You have to be willing, you have to be able to make things happen. So that's Mars, like going out and doing things, making things happen, being an initiator, you know, taking initiative.

    Lucy Baldwin (15:59.311)

And with Venus, it's this sense of like receiving. You have to be able to receive more. You have to be able to be loved, be witnessed. And because of course, whenever we're expanding, that involves community, it involves other people, it involves relationship. Expansion is meaningless outside the context of relating to other, right? Because what are you expanding if not...

something relating to something else and then yeah there's Jupiter and the sun and this is where so I'm I'm kind of going through these planets because this is how I'm actually structuring this momentum program but it's like

The sun is a self-propelled, like a self, what's the word? A self-regenerating system, right? And I was actually talking to my baby, because my son was singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to my 11-month-old today. And I was like, well, what is... I started kind of riffing on stars, and I was like, they're really just fusion reactors.

It's hydrogen fusing and making helium just over and over and over. That's what stars are, like twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are. You're a fusion reactor. And fusion reactors create a lot of energy. so the sun is this self-sustaining thing that it's feeding itself. And of course it will eventually burn out.

but its lifespan is quite long, right? It is a very long-lived generator. And so using that, harnessing that sort of, I think of it in terms of the human experience, it's like we all have that part of ourselves, that connection to source, that sort of divine spark, and it...

    Lucy Baldwin (18:18.498)

We all have the ability to channel that divine spark and use that to regenerate ourselves, to call in the muses and sort of sustain our own creativity, our own drive, our own motion. So...

You know, there's a lot to be gained for with working with the sun and Jupiter in terms of like, yes, the sun can grow grows very, very large thing. The sun has created all life and what an expansion that is. And I love to work with the redwood trees with relation to.

Jupiter Magic. I actually have, I'm going to share, made a, what I think is a really beautiful guided ritual practice for a program that I have called Calling. But I'm going to share the guided Jupiter practice with you for free. So you can get that at the link in the description of this video.

And it's just going to take you through a Jupiter ritual and a Jupiter process so that you can connect with this energy and this archetype and feel sort of the power of it. All of these archetypes are ancient and they're all wholly powerful and beautiful, but Jupiter has a certain sort of fatherly capacity

capacity that an ancient wisdom feeling that I hope will nurture you and and Yeah, so that's the offer that I'm making for you today and I hope that even if you I know I talked a bit about my momentum course program I know I talked a little bit about my momentum program but

    Lucy Baldwin (20:40.46)

just because I'm inspired in this moment by it, but also I do hope that even if you don't do that program, you will tap into that Jupiter energy and feel that Jupiter sort of expansion potential that exists within you. And thank you so much for listening to this episode of The Seven, and I'll see you in the next episode. Ciao.
